WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies received the 2013 Research & Policy Award at the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform’s (ILR) 14th Annual Legal Reform Summit today for its contributions to making America’s civil justice system simpler, fairer, and faster for everyone.

“We are happy to acknowledge the Federalist Society with our Research & Policy Award,” said Lisa A. Rickard, president of ILR. “The Federalist Society promotes a legal system that respects the rule of law and upholds the Constitution, especially through its outstanding research on key legal issues.”

In particular, ILR recognized the Federalist Society’s elevation of important issues among lawyers, judges, law students, and professors. In addition, ILR recognized the Federalist Society for pursuing goals in 2013 that are of great importance and interest to ILR, such as highlighting the impact that courts have on state legal environments and generating debate about state attorneys general.

The annual Legal Reform Awards honor individuals and organizations whose outstanding work has contributed to reforming America’s civil justice system.

ILR seeks to promote civil justice reform through legislative, political, judicial, and educational activities at the national, state, and local levels.
