WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Coalition for Common Sense (CCS) and the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) received the Outstanding Organization Award at the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform’s (ILR) 15th Annual Legal Reform Summit today. The organizations received the award in recognition of their history of supporting legal reform.

“We are proud to honor the Coalition for Common Sense and Louisiana Association of Business and Industry with our Outstanding Organization Award,” said Lisa A. Rickard, president of ILR. “In a challenging political environment, CCS and LABI were able to advance some of the nation’s most substantial legal reforms this year in Louisiana.”

ILR recognized CCS and LABI for their efforts to pass important legal reforms such as stopping state attorney general abuses, blocking the Levee Board lawsuit against energy companies, preventing the legitimization of consumer lawsuit lending, and opposing legacy lawsuits.

The Annual Legal Reform Awards honor individuals and organizations whose outstanding work has contributed to reforming America’s civil justice system.
ILR seeks to promote civil justice reform through legislative, political, judicial, and educational activities at the national, state, and local levels.
