As we move through these uncertain times, policymakers must find a way to prepare for Americans to return to work. As a new letter from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says, those preparations must include a resolution of the significant liability issues and challenges facing our economy today.
Lawsuits over COVID-19 are already hitting the courtroom, and there will undoubtedly be even more as the world works back toward normalcy. Challenges around privacy, exposure, product, medical, and other types of liability put our economy’s recovery at risk. Coronavirus-related lawsuits may also exacerbate the strain on the already out-of-control securities litigation system.
Answers to liability questions must be answered as we move forward. For more information, read the U.S. Chamber’s letter here.
