A new blog on Justice Not Profit looks at how litigation funders in Germany are adapting to the growing number of international litigation funding firms setting up shop in the country and how smaller funders are adapting.
With more and more non-German funders taking over financing mass claims, a large group of smaller German funders is now taking on smaller individual claims. These smaller funders operating outside the main German cities tend to focus on a specific type of litigation, such as consumer cases, bankruptcy claims, and other low-value claims, while still taking the high percentages of any award or judgment as their bigger competitors.
