WASHINGTON, D.C.—Lawyers for Civil Justice (LCJ) received the Outstanding Alliance Award at the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform’s (ILR) 15th Annual Legal Reform Summit today in recognition of its Federal Rules Project which seeks to reform federal discovery rules.

“We are very happy to honor LCJ with our Outstanding Alliance Award,” said Lisa A. Rickard, president of ILR. “LCJ has helped to streamline rules in our civil justice system that waste businesses’ time and resources.”

In particular, ILR recognized LCJ’s great success in advocating for changes to the discovery process in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. LCJ’s Federal Rules Project seeks to reform current rules that require businesses of all sizes to retain massive amounts of information irrelevant to their cases.

The Annual Legal Reform Awards honor individuals and organizations whose outstanding work has contributed to reforming America’s civil justice system.

ILR seeks to promote civil justice reform through legislative, political, judicial, and educational activities at the national, state, and local levels.
