West Virginia’s Climb: Lawsuit Climate Progress in the Mountain State and the Path Ahead

Lawmakers square off over profitable cottage industry: Two competing bills have been introduced in the New York state legislature on the issue of lawsuit lending. A previous New York Post report found lawsuit lending firms, which offer plaintiffs advance payments in exchange for a cut of the settlement, had been offering these loans with interest rates as high as 124 percent.
