Volkswagen Reaches $1 Billion-Plus Deal Over Emissions Allegations
Volkswagen has reportedly reached a deal — worth at least an estimated $1 billion — with U.S. regulators on a settlement over alleged emissions scandal. Part of the settlement involves the company paying up to 600,000 U.S. customers $5,000 each.
The $1 billion price tag “does not include the cost of buying back vehicles should the owners choose to sell them back to VW,” reports the International Business Times.
