Time for FCC to Make the TCPA Pro-Consumer, Instead of Pro-Lawyer

Apple Is Now Facing Eight Lawsuits After Admitting to Slowing Down Old iPhones: Apple defrauded iPhone users by slowing devices without warning to compensate for poor battery performance, according to eight lawsuits filed in various federal courts in the week since the company opened up about the year-old software change.

The tweak may have led iPhone owners to misguided attempts to resolve issues over the last year, the lawsuits contend. (Forbes)

Australian Third-Party Litigation Funder to Assist Law Reform Commission’s Inquiry into Class Actions: IMF Bentham has announced that it will assist an inquiry into class actions and third-party litigation funding, to be led by the Australian Law Reform Commission.

Earlier this month the federal government announced that it would examine the uptick in class actions and regulation third-party litigation funders. One of the objectives of the injury will be to assess how to ensure costs of class actions are proportionate to plaintiff interests. (Lawyers Weekly)
