The Heat is On When it Comes to Asbestos

The “insular world of asbestos litigation” is having a “decidedly non-insular month,” according to the Huffington Post.

Congress is currently considering legislation that would implement greater transparency for asbestos litigation, the FACT Act, and more than a dozen state attorneys general recently announced an investigation into potential Medicaid fraud by some of the nation’s largest asbestos bankruptcy trusts.

Additionally, the Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR) Foundation issued “a white paper detailing the Lone Star state’s role in both establishing the [asbestos] litigation and regulating the lawsuits, including references to many of the same issues referenced in the [state AG] Medicaid fraud investigation.”

“For anyone connecting the dots in asbestos issues, it’s becoming polka dots.”
