Subway “Footlong” Litigation Comes to a Close

A unit of Georgia-Pacific said “abuses in the tort system” are to blame for its bankruptcy last week, reports National Law Journal.

An attorney for Bestwall LLC said the “breadth and magnitude of the asbestos litigation pending against Bestwall are wildly disproportionate to any legal liability Bestwall could possibly have.” According to filings, the company historically paid $6 million per year on asbestos claims, but has been paying an average of $160 million per year between 2012 and 2016.
