Short-Seller Says Litigation Funding Giant Overstates Investment Returns

Short-seller Muddy Waters said Burford Capital, a third party litigation funding industry giant, has been overstating its investment returns and has questionable reporting and governance practices, Bloomberg reports. Bloomberg’s story says Burford’s stock plummeted 64 percent in London after the report, which wiped about $2 billion off the company’s value.
