Pennsylvania AG Found Guilty of Perjury, Abusing the Powers of Her Office
A jury convicted Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane of perjury and obstruction charges “after squandering her once bright political future on an illegal vendetta against an enemy,” reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele persuaded the jurors that Kane orchestrated the illegal leak of secret grand jury documents to plant a June 2014 story critical of her nemesis, former state prosecutor Frank Fina,” reports the Inquirer. “Kane then lied about her actions under oath, the jury found.”
“I implore Attorney General Kane to do what is right: put the commonwealth’s residents first and step down from office,” said Governor Tom Wolfe in a statement.
