NY Times Highlights U.S. Chamber’s Call for Changes in SEC In-House Courts
The New York Times highlights the U.S. Chamber’s call for changes in how the SEC handles cases in its in-house administrative courts.
“The main recommendation is to provide so-called discovery rights — which allow a defendant to obtain documents and compel witnesses to give pretrial testimony — in administrative proceedings to more closely resemble those provided in a federal-court case,” reports the Times.
“In addition, the chamber called for giving defendants the right to move a case to a federal court if they wanted to have a jury decide their fate.”
