Ninth Circ. Raises Standard for Multistate Class Action Settlements

Navient’s RICO Case Against TCPA Law Firm to Continue: A Virginia judge refused a motion by a Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) law firm to dismiss a racketeering lawsuit filed against it by the country’s largest student loan company. The company accused the firm of “grave abuse of the law” and said the firm’s debt relief counseling actually taught people how to create TCPA lawsuits. (Legal Newsline)
