NBC News Notes U.S. Chamber Concerns about Growth of Third Party Litigation Finance

NBCNews.com reports that in the wake of tech billionaire Peter Thiel’s financing of pro wrestler Hulk Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker, “a host of start-ups are rushing to bring litigation finance to Main Street with a business model that could have far-reaching ramifications for both investors and the legal system.”
 

The article notes that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce “strongly objects to the practice.”
