Missouri Legislature Sends “Daubert Standard” Legislation to Governor

The Missouri House yesterday passed a bill (HB 591) to adopt the “Daubert Standard” for rules of evidence regarding the admissibility of expert witness testimony in court proceedings. 

The legislation would “tighten the courtroom guidelines for expert testimony, an effort supporters say is aimed at ensuring experts who testify in court are truly experts,” reports The Washington Times. 

The bill, supported by the business community, now heads to the desk of Governor Jay Nixon.
