Missouri Has “Particular Crisis” with Litigation Climate
With the inauguration last week of Missouri Governor Eric Greitens, and the GOP maintaining its supermajorities in both houses of the Missouri Legislature, tort reformers are excited for the opportunity to “amend a legal system they say is hampering Missouri’s business climate,” writes the National Law Journal.
ILR’s Executive Vice President, Harold Kim, notes in the article that when it comes to Missouri’s litigation climate “there’s a particular crisis” and the message to leadership “is to do as much tort reform as possible in one fell swoop.”
This week, ILR launched an advertising campaign encouraging Missouri legislators to pass a lengthy list of tort reform measures that would reduce the state’s “avalanche of lawsuits.”
