McGraw Loses West Virginia Supreme Court Bid
Beth Walker last night won a seat on the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, “handily defeating second place Darrell McGraw,” reports the West Virginia Record.
McGraw, the former state Attorney General and Supreme Court justice, garnered 23 percent to Walker’s 39 percent (with 85 percent of the polls reporting as of publication time). Incumbent Justice Brent Benjamin came in fourth, pulling only 13 percent of the vote. Walker was strongly supported by the state’s business community, including the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the state Business and Industry Council.
