Judge Says Opioid Verdict Calculated Incorrectly

Cleveland County District Judge Thad Balkman said the $572 million judgment against Johnson & Johnson may have been calculated incorrectly, Legal Newsline reports.

The mistake was admitted at a hearing in which company and plaintiffs’ lawyers met to discuss disagreements with the settlement. The error, Judge Balkman said, could reduce the judgment by about $100 million. Johnson & Johnson is still appealing the decision.
