Judge Neil Gorsuch Selected to Fill Supreme Court Vacancy

U.S. Circuit Judge Neil Gorsuch is President Trump’s choice to fill Justice Scalia’s seat, which has been vacant since February of 2016.

During his decade on the bench, Judge Gorsuch has “penned several opinions that favor businesses” writes the Wall Street Journal. He has ruled on issues ranging from arbitration clauses, labor and employment issues, and class-action venues.

While in private practice, Judge Gorsuch wrote an article “railing against what [he] viewed as abuses by plaintiffs’ lawyers who sue companies over alleged violations of securities laws, accusing them of bringing frivolous claims in the hope of cashing in on quick settlements.”
