Defendants in long-running lead paint litigation to take case to Supreme Court: Defendants in the 17-year long court battle over lead paint liability in California said they will begin filing arguments to the U.S. Supreme Court as early as Dec. 26. The defendants argue that they cannot be held liable for paint in homes built in the early to mid-20th Century, and that other state supreme courts have decided against plaintiffs in similar cases.
