Seth J. Johnston, a disbarred Kentucky attorney who worked alongside Stanley Chesley, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for “siphoning money from a $42 million judgment stemming from a class action over the diet drug fen-phen, as well as other frauds that cost his victims a total of over $4 million.” (Law360)

The Generic Pharmaceutical Association has promised to sue the U.S. Food and Drug Administration if it finalizes a proposal that would leave generic drug makers exposed to increased personal injury litigation. (Law360)

Chevron has sued Woodsford Litigation Funding Ltd. for colluding with lawyers who advanced “a dishonest and fraudulent prosecution of a claim” against the company in its Ecuadorian litigation. “The allegedly fraudulent claim in question is the one that led to the billion-dollar judgment, which purports to compensate residents of the Ecuadorian Amazon for contamination left behind” by Chevron’s drilling activities there.
