Lisa A. Rickard, president of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform (ILR), recently commented that a Missouri Supreme Court’s ruling last week on punitive damages “signals that the state’s lawsuit environment is headed down the wrong path.” (Institute for Legal Reform)

Politico today reflected on the downfall of Washington D.C.-based lobbying and law giant, Patton Boggs, after it was forced to settle for $15 million with Chevron over its “extortion campaign rooted in the rain forests in Ecuador.” Patton Boggs has since issued a public statement of regret, and merged with the less prestigious Squire Sanders firm in 2014.
