The Baton Rouge Advocate notes the Lawsuit Climate Survey in a story on the battle between business interests and trial lawyers in the Louisiana governor’s race. The article states that “the dispute centers on the push by business interests to limit lawsuits that business leaders say discourage investment and kill jobs”. (The Advocate)

Last week, the House debated the Fraudulent Joinder Prevention Act (H.R. 3624), which would add two sentences to the statute governing the removal of suits from state court to federal court. This would prevent trial lawyers from keeping cases in class-action friendly state courts due to improperly adding on an in-state plaintiff. (Bloomberg BNA)
