A study of New York contingency fee agreements found that clients are being charged the top contingency fee rate almost every time, according to Legal Newsline.

Researchers from Claremont McKenna and USC Gould School of Law studied a random sample of 100 cases and found that only three times did lawyers charge a contingency fee less than the allowed 33.3 percent.
