Shapiro: ‘Legal action’ coming for companies tied to PFAS drinking water contamination: Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced Wednesday that his office would initiate formal legal proceedings against companies that manufacture firefighting foams that contain PFAS, a group of chemicals also used in everyday products ranging from non-stick pans to food packaging. If filed, Pennsylvania’s litigation would add to a growing wave of AG and municipality lawsuits against companies that have produced many of the most effective fire suppressant products on the market (The Intelligencer).
