General Motors has been hit with a new, $10 million class action “on behalf of 30 million consumers” over its ignition-switch recalls. The complaints allege GM “lied about the safety of its cars and trucks, both before and after it emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009.” (National Law Journal)

Over the objection of plaintiffs’ lawyers, BP is continuing its efforts to have a court remove Gulf oil spill claims administrator Patrick Juneau. Among BP’s reasons are the fact that, “Juneau once represented Louisiana in talks setting up the claims process and had pushed for favorable terms for those with claims.” BP also alleges the claims process lacks transparency and that Juneau “spends too much on administration.” (Mississippi Business Journal)
