181 asbestos cases are schedule for Monday, December 1 in a single Madison County, IL courtroom – and only one of the plaintiffs is from Madison County. It took the Madison County plaintiff “roughly three years to get her case to trial while hundreds of out-of-state claimants secured a trial position sooner.” (Madison-St. Clair Record)

Litigation financier IMF Bentham, Ltd., and U.S.-based investment adviser Elliott Management Corp. are planning to fund some shareholder lawsuits against Tesco PLC, the U.K.’s largest retailer, over alleged overstatement of its financial forecast. These claims come on top of investigations by the U.K. Serious Fraud Office and the Financial Conduct Authority. (Wall Street Journal)
