SEC to Ramp Up Cybersecurity Enforcement: Companies should “expect additional SEC scrutiny of cyber policies and practices of both regulated entities and of public company issuers,” as the SEC signals its intention to ramp up enforcement investigations for perceived cybersecurity failures. SEC Chair Mary Jo White has said as much, and the SEC announced its first-ever cybersecurity enforcement action, targeting registered investment adviser R.T. Jones Capital Equities Management.
