  • ILR President Lisa Rickard on Opportunities Presented by Trump Presidency: “We have an opportunity to change the course of actions that have been barreling down on us,” said Lisa Rickard in an interview with Reuters . “We will try to be really focused. This is not pie-in-the-sky time.” Rickard highlighted the potential for laws that restrict class actions and require more transparency from trusts that administer claims by asbestos victims. (Reuters)
  • How Trump’s Presidency May Change DOJ Priorities: It is likely that the DOJ will see some new priorities once Trump takes the White House and selects a new attorney general. The New York Times speculates, “one area that is easy to cut is the money devoted to white-collar crime. These cases require a significant commitment of resources for investigations and prosecutions, and they often take years to develop.” (The New York Times)
