NCAA Settlement Class Member Fighting High Attorneys’ Fees: A former college football player is fighting the $42 million attorneys’ fee award in the $209 million settlement for scholarship athletes. Citing a 2010 study, the player says the median fee award in class action settlements of similar size was 16.9 percent. Attorneys have been awarded just under 20 percent in this case. (Law360)

Sirius XM Says ‘Same Lawyers’ are Bringing ‘Same Suit,’ Ask Judge to Dismiss TCPA Class Action: Sirius XM Radio asked a judge in southern California to dismiss a Telephone Consumer Protection Act lawsuit that “epitomizes abusive class action litigation.” The company says the “same attorneys” filed a suit that was settled a year earlier in which the company agreed to adopt the lawyerssuggested practices that the attorneys now says violates the law.
