D.C. Circuit Court to Hear Arguments on Constitutionally of CFPB This Week: On Wednesday of this week, 11 D.C. Circuit Court judges will hear arguments over the constitutionality of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). At the “heart of the legal dispute” is whether President Trump can fire CFPB Director, Richard Cordray, as PHH Corp, a mortgage lender, is currently challenging the constitutionality of the CFPB’s structure. ILR’s Matt Webb to Speak on No-Injury Class Actions in D.C.: On June 15th, ILR’s Senior Vice President, Legal Reform Policy, Matt Webb, will speak at a no-injury class action seminar hosted by law firm Lowenstein Sandler next month. Webb will address the impact that no-injury class actions have on business in the United States and how plaintiffs’ attorneys, in some instances, have abused these lawsuits.
