CFPB head says no more “regulation by enforcement”

“The regulation by enforcement answer is really simple—we aren’t doing it anymore.” Those were Acting CFPB Director Mick Mulvaney’s words at this year’s legislative meeting and trade expo of the National Association of Realtors. He further elaborated that his goal at the CFPB was to clarify for both consumers and businesses what is and is not legal, while doing away with unnecessary regulations.
