BP is withdrawing its appeal of a ruling that held it could not disqualify claims administrator Patrick Juneau. BP had long claimed Juneau’s role represented a conflict of interest but states that it is now satisfied with the Court Supervised Settlement Program’s internal fraud prevention controls. (Law360)

The U.S. Department of Justice may bring an end to the use of “deferred prosecution agreements for corporate settlements” to circumvent taking cases to court altogether, according to top officials. (Reuters)
