A California federal judge criticized “shaky” expert opinion in a case that alleged a link between a weed killer and cancer, Law360 reports.

The judge said some of the evidence presented in litigation over Roundup may equate to “junk science.” Plaintiffs’ lawyers tried to draw a connection between glyphosate and cancer. The judge said evidence of this connection “is pretty sparse” and he had “a difficult time understanding how” the connection could exist in “the face of all the evidence we heard and saw last week.”

The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board published a piece last night on a similar glyphosate lawsuit in which the state of California failed to compel businesses to issue warnings on products that contained the material.
