Oregon Governor Kate Brown on Wednesday signed her first-ever bill in her short tenure as governor — a “controversial” bill (House Bill 2700) that redirects “unclaimed class action damage awards to the state’s legal fund.” (The Oregonian)
Federal Judge Lucy Koh tentatively approved a $415 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit by Silicon Valley workers who accused a number of tech companies, including Apple Inc. and Google Inc., of making an “agreement to not hire each other’s employees.” A reported 64,000 workers are affected by the case.
