Virginia’s New Law Changes Clock For Asbestos Plaintiffs, And Overturns Supreme Court Decision: Virginia legislators passed a bill that goes directly against a state Supreme Court decision with regards to when a lawsuit can be filed over asbestos-connected conditions and injuries, according to a report in Legal Newsline. House Bill 781 circumvents a 2013 Virginia Supreme Court decision that found the statute of limitations begins on the first diagnosis of any condition related to asbestos exposure.
