  • Class Action Plaintiffs’ Firm GC Out as Firm Faces Shareholder Class Actions: The general counsel at Australian class action plaintiffs’ firm Slater & Gordon, appointed just last October, has resigned from the firm. The resignation comes as the firm recently announced a $958 million half-year loss. The firm faces shareholder class actions that are financed, in part, by litigation funding firms JustKapital Litigations Partners and Woodsford Litigation Funding. (Australasian Lawyer
  • Judge Throws Out Key Fraud Claim Against GM: A judge threw out a fraud claim against General Motors in a second trial over allegedly faulty ignition switches. The judge granted GM a motion that the driver “hadn’t presented enough evidence to show that the company made false or misleading statements about the defect in its cars.” (Detroit News)
