On Thursday, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker signed a bill that would require greater disclosure from plaintiffs in asbestos lawsuits. Wisconsin joins Ohio and Oklahoma as states that have recently enacted asbestos transparency laws. Associated Press
The FDA says it typically doesn’t meet with stakeholders while considering regulations, but it did meet with the American Association for Justice as it was drawing up new rules that would open the generic drug industry to more lawsuits. Washington Examiner
A federal magistrate judge in North Carolina has recommended that the U.S. government ’s lawsuit against Bank of America should be dismissed, finding that the Department of Justice is applying the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act too broadly. Wall Street Journal
The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation heard arguments on where to coordinate more than 100 lawsuits over the Target data breach. The company says there is a “substantial connection” to Minnesota, but plaintiffs’ lawyers are pushing for California or Illinois. National Law Journal
