Third Circuit Rules Litigation Funder Entitled to Share of Settlement: Despite a plaintiff who said a lawsuit loan, which came with an interest rate over 100 percent, was “usurious” and should be unenforceable, the Third Circuit still said the lender is entitled to a share of the settlement. The plaintiff received $158,000 from Fast Trak Legal Funding in 2013, but was forced to pay $331,160 in 2014. (Pennsylvania Record)
