  • American G.I. Forum of California Expresses Support for FACT Act: “We believe S. 357 will help protect veterans and others by curbing fraud and preserving bankruptcy asbestos trust resources for future veterans’ claims,” wrote Frederick A. Romero, 1st vice commander and legislative chair of the Cesar E. Chavez Sacramento Chapter of the American G.I. Forum of California in a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).   • Subway “Footlong” Settlement Finalized: A federal judge approved a settlement over a lawsuit claiming Subway’s footlong sandwiches weren’t actually twelve inches. Subway has agreed to “certain practice changes to ensure” the sandwiches are now twelve inches long. According to the settlement, the plaintiffs’ attorneys will receive $525,000, the lead plaintiffs in the class will each get $500, and no claims were awarded to other members of the class action. (National Restaurant News)
