Citing investigations in the U.S. by the Department of Justice, Credit Suisse Group AG announced that it was reducing its fourth quarter profit by 25%. (Bloomberg)

A group of attorneys involved in an alleged kickback scheme in the BP Deepwater Horizon case have been barred by U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier from representing clients seeking damages in the case. The attorneys are accused of paying off a BP claims center employee to the tune of $40,000 to expedite claims. (Louisiana Record)

On Friday, Volvo Cars of North America LLC called upon a Pennsylvania federal judge to sanction a plaintiffs’ attorney for altering a document included in the amended complaint of a $5 million class action lawsuit against the company. (Law360)
