  • Federal Courts See Fewer Lawsuits But Growing Backlog: Lawsuits filed in federal court declined about 6% in FY 2015, but the judicial backlog has grown about 28% since 2011. “Product-liability lawsuits involving pharmaceuticals and health care accounted for most of the increase in long-lingering cases. At the end of fiscal 2014, 19 product-liability cases of that kind had been pending for three years or more. That number has grown to 2,638 cases by the end of fiscal 2015.” (WSJ Law Blog)
  • U.K. Prosecutors Drop Forex Investigation: U.K. prosecutors have closed their two-year probe into allegations that banks “rigged” foreign exchange markets, saying there was “insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction.” (Law360)
