Litigation Funders Hit the Jackpot at the Expense of ConsumersExperienced litigator and former President of the Law Council of Australia Stuart Clark has penned a heavy criticism of the Australian Law Reform Commission’s (ALRC) report on potential reforms to class actions and litigation funding. Clark finds that the ALRC has failed to recommend adequate safeguards against abuse in the litigation funding industry, while opening the door to contingency fees in class actions. (The Australian)
