House Passes Bill Overhauling Dodd-Frank: The U.S. House of Representatives voted 233-186 to approve the Financial CHOICE Act, which would serve as the replacement for Dodd-Frank and eliminate other financial regulations put in place under the former administration. The CHOICE Act would “transform” the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau by restructuring the organization to be a law enforcement agency akin to the Federal Trade Commission. (Law360)

ILR’s Matt Webb to Speak on No-Injury Class Actions in D.C.: On June 15th, ILR’s Senior Vice President, Legal Reform Policy, Matt Webb, will speak at a no-injury class action seminar hosted by law firm Lowenstein Sandler. Webb will address the impact that no-injury class actions have on business in the United States and how plaintiffs’ attorneys, in some instances, have abused these lawsuits.
