State AGs “Pose Big Obstacle” For Novel Negotiating Class Idea, Reuters Writes: Alison Frankel of Reuters said state attorneys general, who are suing pharmaceutical companies over their alleged roles in the opioid crisis in their home state courts, pose a major obstacle for a new idea that would create a negotiating class of local governments that are consolidated in a separate proceeding in an Ohio federal court. Two letters from about half the country’s attorneys general raise federalism and procedural concerns over the proposal. (Reuters)
