Plaintiffs Seek Sanctions After Defendant Requests Funding Disclosure: Plaintiffs’ attorneys asked a federal judge to sanction Sanofi, the defendant, for filing a motion filled with “unfounded accusations” in an attempt to get information on outside funding for the litigation. This pushback comes amid a growing push for transparency in third-party financing, including several rule changes, such as the recent local rule in the Northern District of California that requires disclosure of third-party funders.
