Major professional sports leagues, including the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL, have joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other business organizations in pushing for the renewal of U.S. terrorism insurance, claiming that, “their businesses could be wiped out by a Sept. 11-style attack, unless the U.S. government continues its program to help protect them against losses from terrorism.” (Bloomberg)
U.S. District Judge John Gerrard, recently ruled that, “tipsters need not report to the Securities and Exchange Commission to receive protection from retaliation by their employers.” His ruling loosely defined ‘whistleblower’ in order to, “grant protection to those who raise concerns internally, or to authorities or government agencies as well.” (WSJ Risk & Compliance Journal)
