AT&T has responded to the Federal Communications Commission’s proposed $100 million fine over the company’s unlimited data plan by calling it “unprecedented and indefensible.” The company’s accuses the FCC of ‘flouting’ principles of “fairness, due process and responsible enforcement.” (Law360)

BP said this week that the company lost $5.8 billion in the second quarter, due in large part to the massive settlement over the 2010 Gulf oil spill. (New York Times)
