Thomas R. Delaney II, former chief compliance officer of bankrupt Texas firm Penson Financial Services, Inc., is seeking $1 million in attorneys’ fees from the Securities an Exchange Commission (SEC), saying the agency inadequately supported securities violations claims against him. (Law360)
The SEC announced it will pay a $3 million “whistleblower award” to an unnamed company insider who aided an SEC investigation. Since 2011, the SEC’s has paid out a reported $50 million in so-called “whistleblower awards,” including $30 million to a single claimant in 2014. (Lexology)
